Product Description

Chrysler and Jeep engine controls have undergone big changes as the company has changed hands. The influence of Daimler and Fiat technologies can be seen in the systems and component changes as well. The communications bus has also changed, and new vehicles use a more fault tolerant version called PowerNet. The technician needs good information to successfully diagnose driveability and emissions problems on these vehicles.

The goal of this class is to prepare the aftermarket technician to diagnose and repair driveability problems on Chrysler vehicles. During this class we will present diagnostic scenarios including misfire, stalling, low power, lack of communications, and a variety of other issues on real world examples.

After completing this class, a technician will be able to:

  • Identify Chrysler engine control components and their functions
  • Diagnose fuel and air control problems
  • Diagnose misfire codes and symptoms
  • Diagnose Powernet bus faults
  • Analyze scan data to identify faults
  • Acquire and analyze scope waveforms to identify faults

Identify EGR and EVAP faults
